Hi Jasmine,
It was so nice seeing you again at the last video conference! Thank you so much for your energy and insight.
At the last video conference, you mentioned you were an actress. Could you tell me more about this? I used to do a lot of theatre in high school. I am also reading a lot about Palestinian theatre for this class. I am interested in what kind of theatre you do and anything else you'd like to share with me. Thanks!!

Hi Jasmine,
Keefeek? Insh'Allah I hope all is well:) There has been much discussion about applying the term "apartheid" and "ethnic cleansing" to the situation that the Palestinians are facing. Some students don't think those terms are applicable. I was wondering what your thoughts were on this subject. If you do think the terms "apartheid" and "ethnic cleansing" are fitting for what is happening to the Palestinians, what are your reasons behind it? Also, I would like to know your reasons if you do not think the terms are fitting as well. Just to let you know, I DO think those terms apply to the current situation in The Occupied Territories, and in East Jerusalem; I would just like to know your opinion:) Take care and be safe.

Ashanthi

Ehlan Wsahlan ya Jasmoon,
Shukran for your response! You and the other students from Al-Quds have spoken very well:) I know that by "speaking out," you and the other students are facing great pressures and dangers. I commend all of you for speaking so eloquently, but mostly for speaking honestly. We loved your comment at our last video conference, when an OSU student asked all of you if the Wall made Palestinians want to have peace, or angered them even more. We definitely "got the feeling," as you put it:)
I will end this note with a famous quote by Arthur Schopenhauer, and thank you again for voicing your thoughts ya Jasmoon; you are a very sweet person:)
"In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act."

Salaam,
Ashanthi
